Troy Township and the Illinois Department on Aging SHIP (Senior Health Insurance Program) bring you this educational seminar “Understanding Medicare: Medicare Updates and Open Enrollment”. Free for all Medicare beneficiaries and their caregivers, this seminar will be presented by the Illinois Department on Aging (SHIP) on Tuesday, October 10, 2023.
Ever wonder what all those Medicare parts are and what are they used for? Whether you are new to, or currently have Medicare, this seminar is a great opportunity to gain knowledge of Medicare and to learn the importance of choosing the right plan.
The seminar will cover:
- Medicare open enrollment dates: October 15th to December 7th.
- Medicare eligibility, coverage options, etc.
- Medicare – Medicaid dual eligibility.
- Medicare Supplement Insurance (Medigap/MedSup).
- Medicare Advantage Plans (HMO, PPO) and the 2024 Medicare Part D plans.
- The importance of checking your current plan and comparing it with other plans for the new year.
- How to create your Medicare personalized account where you can see important messages.
The seminar will be offered at 2:00 p.m. and again at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at the Troy Township Community Center located at 25448 W. Seil Rd., in Shorewood.
